FORScan on the F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid
Extra precautions for the 2021+ PowerBoost full hybrid, from someone who drives one.
The PowerBoost is a full hybrid: a 3.5 L EcoBoost V6, an electric motor in the 10-speed transmission, and a high-voltage battery, plus Pro Power Onboard. Body and comfort mods work the same way as on other 14th-generation trucks, but a few extra rules apply.
PowerBoost rules
- Use a battery maintainer on the 12 V battery. With the ignition on and the truck not in Ready mode, the high-voltage system does not keep the 12 V battery topped up.
- Stay out of powertrain and high-voltage modules. Leave the PCM, hybrid/battery control, inverter and transmission modules alone. These are not "mod" modules and errors there can strand the truck.
- Don't write in Ready mode. Ignition on, truck not ready-to-drive.
- Expect limited support. FORScan describes 2021–2024 support as limited and 2025+ as not guaranteed. Search the FORScan forum for your model year first.
Mods tagged for 2021+ in the lookup are the place to start. Filter by your year, start with low-risk BCM and IPC changes, and back up first.
